About
Peyton Chiang is a Taiwanese American artist working primarily in sculpture, performance, and installation. His work explores how durational commitments and careful attention to the mundane can uncover the entanglements of ancestral care that link intergenerational practices of translation, craft, and archiving. His work has been exhibited at the Moody Center for the Arts, Mason Gross Galleries, CAAC Gallery 456, Waley Art, The Eldorado Ballroom, and more.

Chiang is a co-organizer of sub50, an independent, artist-run publishing project based in Brooklyn, NY, and New Brunswick, NJ.

For two years, the duration of my MFA, I committed to a sustained investigation into my mother's adage that if I worked hard in school, my eyebrows would grow fuller and darker. Every month, I crafted a new set of eyebrows, documented myself with them, and then sent the photo to my mother.

Special thanks to my mother and Sumin Hwang
